The Australian Shepherd are the most intelligent and trainable breeds of all dogs. The Aussies are not only known as ranch dogs but also to work as search and rescue, therapy, obedience, agility, flyball sports along with being in the showring. They pretty much can do just about anything.
They are a great family companion.
Aussies thrive on human companionship. They are known as Velcro dogs for the reason that they love to be near their owners. They require daily exercise to keep them healthy and happy. Basic obedience training is essential as well as plenty of socialization.
